Is improving your health and losing weight on your summer To-Do List?  Let’s make it happen before the cooler weather returns. Come learn how to savor the health promoting potential of summer – from the farm fresh produce to the ideal weather for unlimited exercise.  This health and weight loss intensive led by Dr. Laura Jones is designed to improve your health, your nutrition, and your mindset while shedding the pounds.  Come ready to lose the excuses, lose the pounds, identify and make a commitment to your health goals.

This 4 week program follows Whole Health Concord’s 10 day cleanse class on July 16th.  Those participating in the cleanse will be 2/3rds done by the time this class begins and the body will be primed for weight loss progress.   All participants are encouraged to have updated labs in the last 6 months including fasting glucose, fasting insulin, a cholesterol panel and thyroid screening to optimize results. These labs can be ordered by Dr. Jones prior to the program starting if necessary.  Each participant will be encouraged to keep a diet and exercise journal for the challenge period.  Class fee includes 2 canisters of UltraMeal Cardio 360 medical food designed for optimizing carbohydrate metabolism, weight loss and cholesterol – which allows for 1 shake per day.  Class fee also includes Bio-impedance Analysis (BIA) assessments – one prior to starting, one at week 2 and one at the completion of the program. BIA assesses body fat, lean body mass (muscle), and hydration status as well as tells us your metabolic rate (how many calories you burn each day).

Class 1, July 23rd- Lifestyle Medicine 101 and Setting of Nutrition and Exercise Goals:  Join us as we review the mechanisms of weight gain and weight loss as well as the different dieting trends that so many are curious about.  What’s all the hype around Keto, Paleo and Intermittent Fasting and which nutrition plan is best for you? (easy answer that we’ll reveal in class).  This class will be dedicated to each of your designing your nutrition plan using your BIA assessment as a guide.  Caloric intake, and macronutrient consumption will be reviewed and set for each participant. Waist and hip measurements as well as BIA assessments will be completed prior to this class.  Recipes, meal ideas, and nutrition journals will be provided.

Class 2, July 30th – How to Optimize Weight Loss and Insulin Sensitivity- Addressing the challenges: This class is dedicated to the factors that optimize weight loss and how your insulin manages carbohydrate metabolism – a key aspect of optimizing body composition.  Nutrition, exercise and supplementation to cater to weight loss will be reviewed.

Class 3, August 6th – How Stress Level and Sleep impact our Metabolism: The name of this class says it all – we will dive in to why you may still be overweight, despite doing “all the right things”.  Adequate sleep and stress management are necessary for reaching our weight loss and health goals.  Sleep hygiene, sleep goals, stress assessment & management tools and the impact of cortisol will be highlighted throughout this class.

Class 4, August 13th – That’s a Wrap; How to keep the Momentum Going:  This class will outline some of the most common downfalls in one’s journey to ideal health, how to keep off what you’ve lost and how to keep working to better health after the conclusion of the challenge.

Cost: $350 includes 4 classes, 2 canisters of UltraMeal Cardio 360 Medical food (for one shake each day of program), 3 Bi-Impedance Analysis Readings, all class materials.
